Travel Log – #Ooty

These welcoming #Nilgiris mountain range has become my friends now. I have explored them umpteen times, however the travel to Ooty in the year #2020 was special.

  • . It was the first time I was #driving on a #highway, end to end, from #Bangalore to Ooty
  • - I dared to take the #road with #steep hair pin bends on this maiden #self-driven trip
  • - The purpose of this trip was solely to break the #limitations I believed I had
  • Loved each and every second I spent in the beautiful #valley, and here is what I would #recommend to anyone planning a trip to Ooty:
  • - Pack those #woolen snuggly caps, sweater and shawls to really enjoy the chilly #winds in the #mornings and #evenings
  • - If you are looking for bread & breakfast places, look out for British colonial #Bungalows to stay in. The locations and fire places would elate you instantly
  • - I feel the water flowing from these hills, which are alive, will cleanse you deep. So, it is ok to indulge in the food and #chocolates here
  • - I loved the no-nonsense Chinese food at a restaurant called ‘Shinkows.’ Refreshing and a go to place on one of the nights
  • - There are shops lined in the main market near charring cross. You can get the best of essential oils, spices, teas and chocolates here. Kingstar chocolates are quite popular
  • - Information on tourist spots is very easily available when you reach Ooty. I visited places not on top priority for tourists and I would say it was worth the experience:
  • o. #Murugan temple: The temple is beautiful. What mesmerized me was the view, the silence and the time I spent in solitude there.
  • o. Tea Park: I absolutely loved the expansiveness this place offered. The short forest type trail within the park itself filled my lungs up with fresh air.
  • - Take early morning walking treks on the neat roads of the city and witness the #sunrise first hand.
  • - Finally, open the door of the room every day in the morning when you are there, to take in the moist fragrance of the #mist floating at arm’s reach, and enjoy that moment to the fullest!
